Default Electronic Throttle Body Problem

So driving down the highway with our 2010 FX4 Screw w/38K miles, we lose most all power and wrench light/CEL comes on. We were by the dealer so we stopped in and now 2 days later they call and say that they need to replace whole ETB & clean everything and it will be $750.
They told me its recommended to clean out the throttle body every 30K miles. We bought the truck at 31K, so I don't think it was done at 30K and I cant find anywhere in the book it says to do this.

I can only find this issue happening twice on newer models on the internet, but dealer said they see this often of trucks who don't do the recc. cleaning at 30K with the electronic throttle bodies..

How much of a sucker are we for having them do all that work, because I already told them to do it. They were pulling a p2135 code which didn't seem to help much for me when looking it up as its generic.

I usually do all my own maintenance on my own vehicle but its a hummer, but this being my wife's and them telling me the electronics need replacing due to being so dirty/clogged we just did it.

But anyone have any similar stories or feedback on the issue, so maybe to help future people.

I'd ask them to point it out to you in the manual. If it doesn't say it then I'd tell them to pound sand.

My 2010 just had its 30k service a little while ago. My service manager advised the only thing needed was the oil change and tire rotation
The only other item in the book was replacing the climate controlled seat filters. I checked them myself beforehand and they were clean
There's nothing in the book about ETB cleaning
I'd be suspicious

What they got you on was that person that sold it got a commission and the tech that did the work got some extra pay... All on your dime. I wouldn't have done it...

Well dammit..Should of gone with my gut, but I knew nothing about this ETB issue and couldn't find anything about it and didn't want to risk driving it as they were telling me gloom and doom about driving it.
They did give my wife the original ETB and she said it looks almost new, so getting even madder by the minute, but nothing really to do from here since the work is done and paid for. Well that's the first time I've had a dealership work on any of my vehicles because of things like this, so that makes me even more unlikely to ever deal with them again. Thanks for the responses though.
