Spray in liner w/ tailgate step?

ended up removing the handle and installing the cover that I got from my local ford dealer. will drop it off for a bed liner tomorrow. As of right now I see no use of the handle, maybe the step. cost was about $80 for part # 9L3Z-9943121-A. I bought some screws from Lowes, cheaper than the ones the dealer would try to sell with the cover.

I do the spray bedliners at the dealership I work at. We do not do the tailgate with the step, unless the customer wants the pole removed.
All other tailgates we remove the inspection panel. Tape off the access holes in the gate, and spray both the gate and the panel separately. We take them off so you still have access to the innards of the gate, for the handle, the camera, and the torsion bar. If you accidentally break your handle(it happens up here in the cold weather)and the inspection panel is lined over, you're screwed. Because then the we will have to cut the panel out, and re line the gate, costing extra $$ for you. We also R+I the tie downs. And we also line over the bed bolts. Which me, and the other guy that does the liners with me at work, have strongly protested against. But, you guys would be surprised at the amount of people that specifically want them lined over. It is way more than those that don't. That surprised the Hell out of me.
I have actually had to redo a liner, after a customer was in an accident and had to have the bed removed for repair. Solely to re line over the bed bolts. That's what he wanted. Weird to me, but whatever.

got it done today, looks great. happy i took off the pole and is now all even. i kept everything in the event i sell it and will give the other buyer the option of putting it back on. all the bolts were lined over too, i like it that way.
