Speedometer Backlight
I have a 2011 f150 FX2. It has the ice blue lights in the speedometer. Is there a way to change the color??? I would like to be able to change the color. Just like the ambient lighting stuff. Thanks
Possibly using RGB less and a lot of soldering, electrical know-how, and patience? That would be sweet, and something I've only seen in prototype models...
Maybe someone will chime in that has torn the dash apart...
Good luck, I'll be watching this.

Does anybody have a diagram of how the back of the instrument cluster looks?? Would it be possible to stick one of my LEDglow light sticks back there somewhere and have it shine on all of it. Would that work?? Or is there individual lights needed???

I don't think it is individual bulbs to my disappointment. One of the two backlights behind the speedometer on my 2009 F-150 4x4 Lariat is dead and I'm researching a repair. Unfortunately there isn't much that I have found yet online to help repair this problem. I have pulled the cluster out and taken some pictures. The back of the cluster circuit board has no snap-on bulbs. I am trying to get the board out, but the two grey and 4 white plastic headers matching the gauges on the other side seem that it would have to come out to free the board. If anyone can help with information how to replace the instrumentation cluster backlight on 2009-present F-150 series it would be greatly appreciated.

I work for a cluster supplier and you have to take the needles off to get the board out of the housing. And I would not recommend pulling the neddles off. You can damage the motor's that the needles ar on. At my company they melt the center's of the needle to get them off, without damaging the motor's.You could potentially pull the shaft out of the motor's. And putting it back together correctly is a whole other can of worms. The calibration of the gauges can be off doing that part. The LED's that are illuminating the cluster are suface mounts and if you don't know what your doing, you'll be replacing the whole cluster.
