Default Spare Tire Max Size

I searched in other threads but did not find anything conclusive. Does someone have an oversized tire in their spare tire location? I can measure it but was hoping to see some pictures from the rear of the truck to get an idea of how it looks. I've always kept my full size spare in the bed but wanted to see if any of you have gotten crafty with the spare

I have a 275/70/18 on my stock spare wheel. It fits even with the factory hitch and Flowmaster dual exhaust. I think it's close to 33".

Yes a 275/70/18 is 33.2" tall.

To the OP, yes it is quite the inconsistent subject isn't it? I was sure a 33" would fit, since its not much larger, but I have heard some people say they fit a 35 and some say they can't.

How big of an oversized tire are you running?

raptor owners say they have full size 35" spares back there so unless the frame is modified to fit the raptor tires, i'd say a 35 will fit

I haven't decided on a size yet (I'm still debating if I will even lift this truck). I've modified every single daily driver I've ever owned. I like how this truck feels stock so I have been working on other things to keep me busy in the garage. I'm curious to see what would stuff in without looking fugly from the back of the truck. I thought it would be a good topic for all of us who are curious as well.

ive got 34.4 inch tires and am debating myself wether to get a spare and where to put it.
dont really want it in the box as i like having the room of a full 6.5 box.
not sure i want it underneath eith as it mite hang low and get hung upin snow/mud while offroading, decreases the rear departure angle.
so to fix/improve rear departure angle i mite install/build a tire carrier similar to what the ford broncos has , mounted behind the rear tailgate.

I can also say once I had a 305/65/18 tire on a 18x9 rim under there once, and it was not very noticeable from behind the truck.

I too need to know what size will fit, I went from the stock 31.9" to 34.1" and Im going to 35.6 for my summer mud tires......

I wanted to put magnaflow duals on but read you can only use a stock tire...so Im going to go with Solo Performance exhaust, left and right duals & take the holder out........if they won't fit......I only have 5.5ft box so want spare under the truck.....

How about a spare tire swing like Jeep Wranglers have.

Edit: this is perfect if you aren't towing anything heavier than 7500 pounds.

I'm sure someone out there in 4x4 off-roading world can help.

Maybe a post in the off-roading section would yield some good suggestions.
