When I have tossed my dog in the back, I run a tie down from front driver to rear passenger side with a loop near the center. Then hook him up with a 2' or so of rope to his harness so he can't get his paws up on the rails, but he can stick his noes just over the edge. He loves it till we get to around 50-55 on a main road, then he just lays down.
When I had one dog, I used to do the same thing but now I have 4 and its a big cluster to try to do that.

Haha, yeah you need a cap then! That's too many paws to tie in and not expect to get tangled up into a mess of wagging tails before your destination.

When you do get your cap, or next time they are all loaded up for a drive, you should post a picture.

Spend a little extra and get a nice topper. One with a solid, rubber gasket. Leer makes a great topper (used to install them).

Also if you can, find one OR if your buying one; spend a little extra for a drop down front window. Makes it easy to clean it, and your rear truck window.

Good to know about the drop window. Im looking at the Snugtop XTR currently because I have a Snugtop dealer here in town.

I've personally never dealt with them. We have Leer, ARE and Rocky here.

Like I said before, here are a few things to look for.
-Factory installed rubber seal between topper and bed (foam cheapos are just that, cheap)
-Drop down front window
-Side Sliding windows
-Nice sealing door
