Default So Angry!!!

So I come out to my truck after getting off of my overnight shift to see this. Some ***** Clown decided to hit my truck and take off. Did I mention that I am an officer and it was parked in the PD parking lot which just so happens to be next to a row of bars... I will however be checking for blue paint on all the cars but does anyone know a ballpark figure of what this will cost to be fixed> I really dont want to file a claim. does the whole bed side need to be painted and will they be able to get the crease out of the dented area?

Ouch, sorry man. I got hit in a parking lot and no one left a note or anything too. I've got a black '12. They only made a small ding and two long scratches, but not as bad as yours.

I forget the exact number, but I was quoted well above $1200. Luckily my deductible was only $500, so I filed a claim under my collision. No points on my record of course since it wasn't my fault. They had to repaint almost half of my bed and yours in a worse spot.

If your deductible is $1000 or less, I would just file a claim and go to a recommend repair shop as stated by your insurance. Get them to restore it until you're happy with the outcome.

In all honesty, I'm not sure if they could fix that dent of yours. It's in a unique spot. They may request a whole new bedside after inspection and then you're talking ridiculous cash.

You may be able to find a 'Dent Man' that would take it out and then attempt to use a buff kit or scratch remover wax to fix the scratches.

What a **** off, takes some kind of scum to do that and keep going. I mean **** happens everybody knows that, man up and sort things out the right way. Sorry that it happened to you, could have been worse but it is in a difficult spot. Get it looked at and see what the best route is when you have a general idea of what it'll cost.

Dang that is horrible. I would be so mad if that happened! I honestly think I would be more upset that they hit my truck and then ran then the damage itself...
I have no idea how much it might cost to fix something like that but I had a thought on a cheap repair. I don't know if you ever wanted to get fender flares or not. But given the location you could probably hammer it out mostly flat then get some flairs that cover where the damage is? Be a good excuse to get some flares, then some bigger wider tires and you wouldn't have to involve your insurance company. Just a thought...
