Default Slip/ Bump repair TSP 12-7-13 (Rotunda tool 205-343)

I'm finally going to do the slip bump repair on my 2010 XLT with the two piece driveshaft. On Sat I bought the kit #9L3Z-4W602-A which includes the special grease and one clamp. My question, is there another tool I can use to reassemble the front clamp. Ford is specifying a Rotunda tool 205-343 to reinstall the clamp. I think it's no more than the same tool used for CV boots Any ideas what I can use

Why not just let the dealer do it? They would do the whole thing for nothing, there's a bulletin on it.

Haven't done one in awhile, but I believe boot clamps or side cutters will do

Iggy is Ford doing this repair even for trucks out of warranty or no extended warranty. It would be great for Ford to do this except my truck is out of warranty

I just had this done on my one piece drive shaft at the slip yoke at the tranny and I had to pay for it cause the dealer said that it was considered "maintenance work" and was not covered by my extended warranty plan. It cost $150 but it makes the world of difference to me.

I'll have to look at the print-out that a dealer gave me. I have the same "clunk" issue on my truck.

I had what I thought was a slip yoke bump and a harsh 4-3 downshift. Brought it to the dealer and they couldn't replicate the bump I was feeling at a stop. They reflashed the pcm for the harsh shifting. Since I've had the truck back I haven't felt what I thought was a slip yoke bump since...fyi...

I just had mine done. My 2010 F-150 XLT has 49000 miles on it. The dealer said it was covered under the power train warranty which is good for five years or 60000 miles. It drives like a new truck, without the clunk/bump during acceleration or deceleration. I just hope it doesn't return. No charge at the dealer.
