Default Side holes in bed ??

I have a 2009 F150, and in the bed on both sides, are 3 sets of 2 holes on each side. I think they are for some kind of mounting system, but I am not sure. Does anyone know what these are for, and what size bolt goes into these holes ?? Thanks, Dean

My '10 Lariat has them also. I would tend to think that the ones closest to the tailgate would be for a bed extender. What the other 2 sets are for is beyond me. Maybe some kind of rack system???

Nah, these holes are up on the sides of the bed. And they look threaded.

I believe those holes are where the rails bolt for the Cargo Management System.

Default Bolt Size?

Does anyone know the bolt size for these holes? I would like to mount a crossbar using the forward holes to protect my rolltop box from cargo. But I haven't been able to figure out what bolt size they are. I could just buy the Ford CMS, but it's way overkill for what I need. Just need to know what bolts to buy so I can mount a custom bracket on each side.

I just called a local dealer and their accessory parts system showed that replacement bolts can be ordered for the rail system and that they are a 8mm bolt size.

I've been considering getting some aluminum handles or hooks of some sort and mounting them in there with the holes, as tie-down points
