well im really liking my new new 2012 f150 5.0 larry but twice now after going somewhere and then leaving about 1 hour later right as i start to accelerate (and both times I was taking off very slowly for one reason or another) my truck started to shudder and act like it was going to stop! then it just starts working right and that's it i wont see this behavior again for couple days! wow, kinda worried and shocked... $50,000 truck and this? i dunno, anybody else have this? thanks forum members...

 

Hey, the same thing happened to me and scared me too. Later, reading the owners manual, I learned it was the computer that runs traction control and anti sway and brakes,just calibrating itself.It has not done it now in over 5000 miles.i just averaged 20 mpg on a 4000 mile trip with my screw with 5.0. Love the truck. gary

 

thanks for the response gary. im gonna get into my owners manual during lunch today. that sounds quite possible like that would make sense though. do you happen to remember how many times it actually did it on your truck by chance? mine has done it twice. btw, other than this i am very impressed w/this truck! totolly diggin' this 5.0 engine! what a nice growl it has and good acceleration when you need it. i like!!

ok this sounds right and i would like to report that im almost at 1000 miles and it hasnt done it again so im feeling ok about it and still VERY pleased with my truck! so nice to have a manufacture build a car that average joe like me can buy and be happy with and not feel the need to upgrade or change ANYTHING! Shoot i'm even more than satasfied with the stereo. sounds high end to me. and still totally diggin this 5.0!!

 

now if i could just talk my wife into one but no, she wants one of them lil' toryotaz... dont think i havent tried every angle i could come up w/but she wants a hatch back and the expedition is "too big" and she dont like the explorer or the other smaller one so whatya gonna do? i guess those tundras have a good rep so maybe the 4runner is good too?
