I'd call. I used to be a Dodge fan through and through. My first job was at a Dodge dealer. I started pumping gas and detailing cars, worked up to apprentice mechanic, ran the tow truck, sold cars and worked as Sales Manager. I moved from Ontario to Alberta and when I could afford my first new vehicle, it had to be a Dodge. A 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport.

Working the rigs, I would book oil change appointments for my next set of days off, usually a month in advance. Needless to say I was the first one booked in on that day. One instance I had gone in and told the service writer I was there for my appointment. He laughed. He told me it would be at least a week before I could get in. I pointed on his appointment book the appointment I made a month previous. Nope. No way. He wasn't budging.

In the spring, I drove home to Ontario from Alberta for a visit and to show off the new ride. The top of the steering column had come loose, preventing the wheel from being tilted up. Very inconvenient for a chunky monkey like myself, who relies on tilt for easy entry and exit. The very dealership where I started into the work force refused. Then a dealer in the city of Sudbury refused because it's "an Alberta truck" and I should go to my dealer, they don't fix Alberta trucks.

I complained to each individual dealer, and to Chrysler Canada. The only response I had was from the selling dealer, explaining how I was unsympathetic to their plight of being too busy to accomadate me, but would take (in their words) the high road and offer me a free oil change. I responded that they were mistaken, that a month's notice for a simple oil change is more than enough time to get their poop in a group, and that I no longer wanted anything from them, even if it was free.

Last. Dodge. Ever.

Next new vehicle was a Ford. Bought it from the best Ford dealer in Canada, MGM Ford Lincoln in Red Deer. Amazing service. Excellent follow up. And Boundary Ford in Lloydminster, AB would service my car as well, with the same respect like MGM would.

I hope you find your own MGM. You deserve it, you are a customer. Refusing to serve a customer is the absolute worst thing a dealer could ever do. We put bread on their table. To do this, we gotta take a little off of ours. That's huge. If they don't appreciate it, feed someone else.

****NOTE: At the time, Southside Dodge in Red Deer did not have a quick lube lane for oil changes, hence the need for appointments. They have since built one, yet you'll never see my fat ass there. Ever.

Luckily there are a million Ford dealerships around here and no one ever has to go to that place again. Sadly, most people are too dumb to listen.

Houston Ford Dealers Suck Big Time

I have said this for years.

1. The worst Ford Dealers in the Nation are in Houston.

2. Ford loses about 40% of their truck sales here because the service from Houston Dealers is so piss poor to the one hundredth power.

Recently I just took my brand new F150 Eco in for its first oil change to “my newest selling dealer”.

I WILL NEVER SET FOOT ON THIS DEALERS LOT AGAIN FOR ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER. I don’t even want to talk about it.

Which one was it?

Down here on the south side of town McRee Ford in Dickinson, Tx. has been good to me for service . I didn't buy the truck there and they still treat me well. If I did buy it there I would be able to use one of their loaner cars.

Good outfit in my opinion.

Tmmyby - Did you go to Spring or Humble?
I bought mine at Tomball, but live in Humble. I would have to drive right by both Planet dealers to get to Tomball.
I live in Humble and work in Greenspoint, so either of the Planet dealers would be more convenient for me.

Did you go to the one on 59 or 45?

Spring. My parents bought their 2012 Explorer at Tomball Ford because they had some problem with Planet. I guess I should've driven out of the way.

Well the one you mentioned at the top of your post is “off” my list. The turds crashed my new 2004 F150 with only 1,000 miles on it. And there are now 7 dealers on my list that I will never go back to.

I have heard very good things about McRee and Russell & Smith. But when it is getting to be a 2 hour trip to the Dealer it is a real pain.

Years ago I use to trade with Jack Roach Ford. They could actually fix stuff in or out of warranty. Seldom lied to me, and Never damaged the truck.
