Serivice at Planet Ford in Houston
I've been to this dealer for three different problems and every time they found out I didn't buy my truck and refused to help me. Looks like Ford needs a call.
|
As I posted on another thread, when the new body style came out i asked one of there sales people about an fx2 and he didn't even know what an fx2 was and then after explained he said they weren't making them anymore. Planet fords a bunch of retards. My dad bought an explorer from them and said it was the worst experience ever. That's why they've changed the name 3 times.

Did you steal your truck? If you don’t like them, just don’t do business with them. I don’t do business with places that don’t want my business. There are at least three Ford dealers within 10 miles of me. I’d hope that it’s the same in Houston.

I would hate to have to work with a dealer like that. I hope Ford is able to help you!
I see you have the 6.2L, would you mind elaborating on the issues? |
I highly recommend Joe Myer's Ford on 290. Took my wife's 2010 Fusion to the dealer we bought it from 4 times to fix a probem with the blind spot system. Finally gave up on them and took it to Joe Myer's and they fixed it the first time. Also took the F150 to them and the service writter let me go back and talk to the Tech face to face. They are very helpful and actually listen to what your problem is.

Ahh, I see. Well, I don't know if one problem is 'better' than another, but at least you're not having reliability issues. I'm having my share of those lately.
At any rate, good luck getting your stuff taken care of! |
I hate that you have to go through a middle man (service writer) to get your truck fixed. I wish you could talk to the Tech and be done with it.

My local dealership that I didn't buy this truck from ( but did the last , and the wife's last 2 ) told me that he would not work on it so I should take it back to the dealership that my loyalty is with...
If that's their stance on vehicles I don't want them to touch any of mine ever .... good luck. |
I reccomend AC Collins ford off the beltway and fairmont in Pasadena. It isn't where I bought my truck but their service department and body shop has been pretty honest in my opinion. Or if your on the northside toward Conroe the trip to hillcrest ford in huntsville is definitely worth it. Since I've moved north this is where I go. Things get done quickly and everyone is so nice! Just my $0.02

Regardless, I agree, where you bought it shouldn't matter, they get paid for warranty work regardless where you bought it. I never heard of such a thing for a dealer to say that to a customer, my gosh, if they treated you great, you might continue to go back long after the warranty expires. It's amazing people don't have any business sense....makes you wonder how they got their job. |

I already knew that place sucked to buy from, but I was hopping the service department was a little better like they were when I did work for them. I guess I was wrong yet again. |
i had service done yesterday at planet. it was exceptional. i will be back for sure.
|
I think every dealer will have its issues. There will never be one that is "excellent". I bought my truck off joe myers and their service dept. has certain ppl that provide great customer service and some that dont. And as far as getting stuff fixed, i had to take my truck in 3 times to get the same issues fixed cause they didnt get it right the first few times.

You said “they found out I didn’t buy my truck…”
I wasn’t sure what you were going to tell Ford. If it was a complaint to get the dealer to help you, then you’re going to have a disgruntled dealer working on your truck.

Working the rigs, I would book oil change appointments for my next set of days off, usually a month in advance. Needless to say I was the first one booked in on that day. One instance I had gone in and told the service writer I was there for my appointment. He laughed. He told me it would be at least a week before I could get in. I pointed on his appointment book the appointment I made a month previous. Nope. No way. He wasn't budging. In the spring, I drove home to Ontario from Alberta for a visit and to show off the new ride. The top of the steering column had come loose, preventing the wheel from being tilted up. Very inconvenient for a chunky monkey like myself, who relies on tilt for easy entry and exit. The very dealership where I started into the work force refused. Then a dealer in the city of Sudbury refused because it's "an Alberta truck" and I should go to my dealer, they don't fix Alberta trucks. I complained to each individual dealer, and to Chrysler Canada. The only response I had was from the selling dealer, explaining how I was unsympathetic to their plight of being too busy to accomadate me, but would take (in their words) the high road and offer me a free oil change. I responded that they were mistaken, that a month's notice for a simple oil change is more than enough time to get their poop in a group, and that I no longer wanted anything from them, even if it was free. Last. Dodge. Ever. Next new vehicle was a Ford. Bought it from the best Ford dealer in Canada, MGM Ford Lincoln in Red Deer. Amazing service. Excellent follow up. And Boundary Ford in Lloydminster, AB would service my car as well, with the same respect like MGM would. I hope you find your own MGM. You deserve it, you are a customer. Refusing to serve a customer is the absolute worst thing a dealer could ever do. We put bread on their table. To do this, we gotta take a little off of ours. That's huge. If they don't appreciate it, feed someone else. ****NOTE: At the time, Southside Dodge in Red Deer did not have a quick lube lane for oil changes, hence the need for appointments. They have since built one, yet you'll never see my fat ass there. Ever. |

Houston Ford Dealers Suck Big Time
I have said this for years.
1. The worst Ford Dealers in the Nation are in Houston. 2. Ford loses about 40% of their truck sales here because the service from Houston Dealers is so piss poor to the one hundredth power. Recently I just took my brand new F150 Eco in for its first oil change to “my newest selling dealer”. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT ON THIS DEALERS LOT AGAIN FOR ANY REASON WHAT SO EVER. I don’t even want to talk about it. |

Down here on the south side of town McRee Ford in Dickinson, Tx. has been good to me for service . I didn't buy the truck there and they still treat me well. If I did buy it there I would be able to use one of their loaner cars.
Good outfit in my opinion. |
Tmmyby - Did you go to Spring or Humble?
I bought mine at Tomball, but live in Humble. I would have to drive right by both Planet dealers to get to Tomball. I live in Humble and work in Greenspoint, so either of the Planet dealers would be more convenient for me. |

Which one was it?
Well the one you mentioned at the top of your post is “off” my list. The turds crashed my new 2004 F150 with only 1,000 miles on it. And there are now 7 dealers on my list that I will never go back to. I have heard very good things about McRee and Russell & Smith. But when it is getting to be a 2 hour trip to the Dealer it is a real pain. Years ago I use to trade with Jack Roach Ford. They could actually fix stuff in or out of warranty. Seldom lied to me, and Never damaged the truck. |

I walked to test drive only and they tried to force me into buying a truck right then and something I didn't want. I told them from the get go that I was only looking to test drive a 6.2 and NOT buy yet. I walked out after calling him a knucklehead, with a smile on my face. EVERY vehicle they sell they add with a "dealer package" of tint, alarm and some other aftermarket add on. They tag another 1500-2000 on top of sticker. |

I purchased my f150 at Mac Haik but live in Spring. I shopped for several weeks at Planet but I never found the truck I wanted on their lot. I worked with one particular sales guy for a while and was close to just ordering exactly what I wanted.
I'd surf the net every few days to find the truck I wanted but I kid you not, by the time I could get over there, the truck was gone. At any rate, I had to bring the truck in to have the instrument cluster replaced. The service guy asked if I purchased the truck through planet but I told him it was their fault they moved so many trucks as to why I didn't buy from them. My service was phenomenal. Received a loaner car (cruisin in a minivan for a day) and the service guy kept me informed throughout the process. I'd give them a 5 of 5 on a review. |

I'll be moving to Denver in less than two weeks so these dealerships wont matter. |
Im from central Kansas and the dealers in this area have gone to a commission
System you go in for some basic service and the next thing you know your truck is life support. |
Here in El Paso, avoid Shamaley Ford, but Viva and Casa are both OK. Shamaley wanted 600 to change a starter in a 1991 F150. Dragged it back off their lot and parking lottes it in 15 minutes.

Gullo Ford Conroe - North Houston - Woodlands
Does anyone have info on Gullo Ford - Good or Bad?
1. Do they have good techs? 2. Do they WANT your business? 3. Do they WANT to KEEP your business? 4. Are they HONEST? 5. Can they perform TSBs? 6. Do they have fast connections with Ford to solve problems? 7. Can they actually take care of your truck and not trash it or crash it? If they can do just 4 of the 7 would be fine with me. I am not demanding at all, and very easy to get along with. |
