I have a 2013 and wondering if this year made it out of the woods with this issue.
A little searching indicates Ford used this part in a vast number of vehicles from 2009 - 2016, and in F150 from 2009 - 2014 where equipped. F150 option must include captains chairs.

Part of the problem lies in how it is mounted. It clips on to the springs underneath the seat. These springs are not stationary, and move around with any movement of the seat. The blower clips independent from the heating element. The rubber boot pays the toll and becomes the failure point. Being as there is no design change to how it mounts, I am willing to bet this will fail again in similar fashion.

If I were re-designing it - The blower and heating element would be rigidly mounted together. The mount itself would then be rubber isolated.

I’m a little late to the party here but I have a 2010 screw king ranch that the heated and cooled seats quit working out of the blue. If I push the button to turn them on the fan and dash light will kick on and shut off after a minute. If I try again the dash light turns on and right back off. Another thread suggested replacing the filter under the seat which I did to no avail

Default It is a flawed design

I had this issue too. I had to have the units replaced. Read the post above yours and the rest of the thread.

So I am having a similar issue. I read the thread. I have a 13 fx2. Both seats will illumjnate and come on when you turn cool on, and you can hear the relays inside click. Both fans in each seat come on then the relay clicks and they turn off. After that, nothing, just the lights in the dash. Auto start and driver seat comes on and stays on. Turn heat on first and it stays on. But turns off when it turns to cool. Driver side worked great last week.

I've checked the filters and the

Default 2013 f 150 king ranch heated seat problem

To clarify, the fan does in fact blow air during the heated seat function. Take the fan filter off, it is clearly in operative. Throughout the heat operation the fan ramps up it's speed as the heating element begins to produce heat.

My condition is intermittent on the drivers side. On the initial startup of the truck, pressing the heated seat button will excite the relay and turn on the fan. At the point when the fan speed starts ramping up is when the relay clicks off (lights on the dash stay on). I no longer have heat or cool functionality on the driver side. If i cycle the key off/start I am back at square one. Passengers side seems to always function.

Has anyone troubleshot this issue with success?
did you ever figure out what it was mine doing same thing
