Those are sharp! New member here. I came to the Forum specifically for headlight info. (for now - lol) I'm picking up a 2012 Lariat this weekend, and coming from a touring car to a truck, I know I want modern lighting and won't be happy with the stock halogens. (Look or performance) Pretty sure this is exactly what I want, with the LED bulbs. How difficult was the install? Do the DRLs come on automatically with starting the truck, or are they controlled by the headlight switch? Are you happy with the brightness of the DRLs? I put aftermarket halos on a previous car and you could barely see them in the bright sunshine.

Thanks!

Install isn't hard at all. 3 bolts and the headlight can be pulled out (can be a little tough to pull out). Plug and play completely. The DRL bar comes on with the parking lights, but has wires so you can wire them to come on with ignition. I can see them perfectly fine during the day. I can take photos of them during the day, or videos if you like and show you more in depth of how they look and work. Just let me know and I can message you.

This is a mod that I haven't done, nor have any experience with. However, when I do pull the trigger it will be with Raptor Retrofit. IMO, the best aftermarket headlights out there. You get what you pay for is my motto and Raptor retrofit is not cheap. They use Ford OEM parts. The guys over at For Raptor Forum use them all the time and I have heard nothing but good reviews. They have very ,very cool headlights. Good builds

Thanks. I trust you on the brightness of the DRL. They look great in that top pic, and it looks like that's in the daytime. So to confirm, the LED for Halogen bulb swap doesn't require any modifications? They use the same connector?

I found these on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
They seem to look identical to the Spyders you have, cost a few dollars less, and actually have much better reviews than the Spyders on Amazon. Hard to be certain as there aren't very many reviews for either one.

I'm looking at these LED bulbs:
Amazon Amazon
Very reasonable price and hundreds of 5 star reviews.

Still hoping to pick up the truck today for an over-the-weekend test drive and to take to my mechanic Monday morning. If all goes well, the truck will be mine and I'll be ordering these on Monday night.

No modifications at all, just swap the bulb in the housing. Just make sure you get the correct bulb. These are the bulbs I got Optix 120W 12000LM LED Headlight Conversion Kit - H13 (9008) Dual Hi/Lo Beam Bulbs - 6000K 6K Diamond White - Premium 4-Sided Epistar COB Chip - 360 Light Plug and Play Design - 1 Pair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N0SLV1R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5vDxCbEZ0CDGR

Damn, so I was in a fender bender yesterday.... I was looking at these headlights online and they look great on your truck. My truck is dark blue so I'm not sure if I should go with the black or chrome housing (I currently have no exterior mods but think new headlights might give it a little facelift). Leaning towards chrome because I have chrome side steps and the chrome-looking stock rims.

I'm not the person who has these lights. I was looking into them at the time, but ended up buying a King Ranch instead of the Lariat. KR has HIDs, so I'm happy now with the stock lights.

Good luck and sorry about the accident.

I'm not a fan of chrome overall myself, but if you have a chrome-laden truck, I think the chrome colored housings would look better.
