Thanks to all of you so far that have responded.
I just tinted my windows and was proud of how she looked. Then I tried to squeeze in where I shouldn't have.
It may not seem like much, but the camera doesn't do it justice as usual.
In other words, it looks worse in person.

I know it didn't score the material, it's a surface blemish, but damn it's putting up a fight!

I believe somewhere on this forum is another thread about the side pillars and the results were very good (there were pictures as I recall). But,as previously mentioned, it will probably leave a gloss finish.

You could always order the glossy side pillar covers like others have mentioned and vinyl wrap those or something if you don't want them shiny.

The issue you have is that the molds that produce those covers have a stipple finish - a texture pattern than is several thousandths of an inch deep. The hot plastic "reads" this texture and comes out with a stippled surface that deflects light and leaves a dull finish. (A more aggressive example is the leather grain surface of your dash board.)

When you rub a tree branch or other object across the surface of the plastic part, it smears the texture off of it, leaving a shiny streak/mark. To try to "polish" it out requires smoothing the entire area around it to a uniform surface finish. That would be "shiny" just like the original mark.

If you're really ballsy, you could remove the covers and try to bead blast them with a coarse glass bead or something. That type of approach requires practice so you'd probably end up buying another set of covers anyway!

It's not scratched that I can feel, but it does not want to come off.
Did you take a picture of my truck??? I literally had the same exact thing happen the other week lol. It was either take a family member's mirror off or deal with the tree branch.

I haven't done this...yet. But, the gloss covers really seem to flow a lot better, esp with tinted windows. The original just doesn't fit in as well.
