Try some compound to see how much it helps. Then buy some touch up paint or take it to a pro and let them fix it right if it's in a really visible spot. It looks like you have a metallic paint job, if so it's very hard to get to look good with touch up paint.

What kind of rubbing compound should i buy?

Also, if i take it to the pros, how big of an area will they have to repaint? Will you see a different once done?

Your through the paint, rubbing compound won't do anything. Either bring it to a auto body shop and they'll have to repaint and feather in most of the cab, or else get some touch up paint, do a nice job, then use rubbing compound to smooth it out and then buff it up shiny.

I would do option b because I'm not paying big money to repaint, when there's still a chance for other scratches. Touch it up and drive it. It's a truck not a show car

If you can feel a scratch with your fingernail no compound will fix it. Paint has been removed and it needs paint to fill the void, in your case down to bare metal, touch up or body shop aero your only options.

Sorry about your scratch, but DO NOT use any compound on that scratch; it will do nothing because the scratch has gone thru the clear and color coat. Use factory touch up paint and then use Langka Blob Remover. Follow the Langka instructions. If you have a pro paint shop paint it, they will fill and paint the base color, then apply the final clear coat from edge to edge...going to be expensive. I have used Langka blob remover with amazing results. Here's a link:

Duplicolor is just as good. I bought a touch up pen and it has a brush and pen tip, sanding tip, and clear coat on a foam brush. It buffs down well and leaves scratches minimally noticeable, if at all.

Second post. IF you choose to use the Langka product, you must use genuine Ford touch up paint. Apply in layers until you've built up the touch up above the surface. Now use the Langka blob remover. With this product you will level the touch up paint with the surface, and you will not damage the surrounding factory paint. No color sanding is required. You will be very happy with the results. If you have any questions, PM me and I will be happy to walk you thru it. I wish you the best.
