Thanks all, I'll try to get the dealer to get me FX4 bumpers and grill instead.

I'll let you know if I succeed

Thanks again

I have rusted bumpers and running boards on my 8month old F150 XLT. The dealer is going to replace them with new ones. I didn't think to ask to see if they could replace them with FX4 style ones. Darn!!! I think the painted ones will last longer....the chrome job on the parts is really bad.

If your grill is 'rusting', and the rust on the bumper looks similar, then it is probably rail dust on the surface of all those things. The grill is plastic so it will not rust.

The grill is not rusting and yes it is rail dust but the dealer can't clean it out.

The bumpers are definitely rusting

Mine isn't rail dust. Just a crappy chrome job from the factory.

I had my chrome bumbers replaced on my 2010 XLT. Rust showed up on the new ones as well. I was able to trade it in on a 2011 about a year ago. No problems on my 2011 XLT. Hope they work it out for you. I really got the ring-a-round on my 2010.

Well the XLT custom package comes with painted bumpers, granted its only available in 2wd but probably the same as the FX4 bumpers.

Didn't know that... but I'm in Canada, our packages are not the same.

Thanks

if you get rock chips in the painted bumpers, those spots will start to rust too. I have a few in my 09 w/painted bumpers.
