just took mine off my truck the other day, love the look without them and it really isnt that much diffrent and im lifted 6in, you only really have to put you foot up a couple more inches. i guess for you old timers that might be a little difficult, haha just kidding. im thinking about selling mine on craigslist here shortly, came off a 05 screw, not sure if they would match up with newer models or not, i think i read they are a little longer.

Took mine off, love the look without them, but thinking of putting on some black N fabs to blend in with the sterling silver paint.

i like the look without them but bought some aftermarket since they make getting into the truck so much easier, especially for my wife. I bought black-coated ones so they don't stand out like chrome rails.

X2-I here ya on that. My last 5 trucks have had the 4-5" running boards and zero rock chips on the sides. I only had 1 truck w/out and after a short time I had a ton of chips on door bottoms and front edges of lower bed. I don't mind the looks but even if I did I would not be w/out again. Like someone else said i think it saves your seat as well.

I bought mine without them and I do like the look of it. However, the lack of driver side handle can make it cumbersome sometimes. Also was nice on my old truck to have them in the wintertime to kick the mud/snow off my boots before climbing in. That was a Ranger, so they were pretty useless except for that reason. Handy to get up on and wash the roof of the cab as well (especially on a Screw F150).

I've heard good reviews about the power folding side steps and plan on getting them, even if they are $$$$$$. I want my truck to keep the clean look as well as maintain good ground clearance so that's worth the investment to me. I don't plan to do many mods to my truck, and this is one that I will use all the time.

That is the only thing i regret about taking them off, with them on i still had to tell everyone not to slide off the seat but now i think it will be a bigger problem. Damn cloth seats. still like it better without them.
