Strangely enough I haven't heard or been able to reproduce the noise for the last 3 days. Maybe it will stay gone!

Found this thread and wondering if anyone has had a resolution.

I have a similar issue with my 2012 Lariat. Groans/rubs for a while mostly when starting out after cold start, then it quits. I have also been experiencing the steering becoming stiff at random times particularly noticeable at low speeds (10-30mph). Truck will be driving fine, then make a turn and all of a sudden it feels like driving in sand. Steering stiff. Not peppy. Won't coast well. These are intermittent.

Have had it to 2 dealers 4-5 times and they can't reproduce it. One time got a "service advance trac, steering alignment code". Dealer cleared it and couldn't reproduce it.

Yep mine still does the noise at soft stop but only when cold. After a few minutes it goes away. Really annoying. I think it's the vacuum tube issue from the post I linked above but haven't had a chance to test it yet, it's been below zero here lately.
