Default rotor replacement

Looking to replace the front rotors on my 2010 f150 s-crew with 28,000 miles on it.Should I go with factory or is there a better aftermarket rotor to replace them with.Mostly city driving.

I only have 16000 on my 2010, so no problems yet. What happened to your? Have you towed a lot or just a bad set of rotors? I think the ebc or other high end companies make good rotors.

Not sure what the specs or price are for the factory rotors but there doesn't seem to be anything special about them. If you are looking for stock performance and aren't going to upgrade to slotted, cross drilled, etc. then my recommendation would be Centric premium rotors. I've used them in the past and they come with the rotor hats coated so they don't rust.

I think that we all would like to know why you are having to replace your rotors with so few miles on them? Inquiring minds and all, you know??

Are they warped or just worn down? Hard driving(stoping) can kill a set of rotors especially the junk they give you from the factory..

Hopefully this isn't due to a friendly mechanic telling you they are bad.

X2^ centric is what i used in my front brake how to, thread.

And OP...just rotors? Not pads too?

Also bad pad material transfer can mimic "warped rotors." Typically at low mileage like yours. Often gets mis diagnosed as warped.

if they are warped or damaged they should still be under warranty.

Depends on his build date. Op's truck is a '10. I also have a '10 with 33k miles, and I'm out of warranty.

Brakes generally aren't covered under warranty as they are wear items.
