It's depressingly bad. It's odd though, if you move a few inches down the rocker towards the front of the truck its solid like new. Maybe the hole is a result of water build up?

Was there any dirt build up there?

Didn't seem to be any, I don't really want to make the hole any worse. I'm hoping they can salvage the rocker. I don't want to pay to have both sides done. My 2006 FX4 SCAB wasn't even close to in as bad of shape when I traded it in (as far as the rocker panel condition). I'm just beyond belief that this could happen over 5 years.

Check for a 3rd brake light leak. They are known issue and known to cause standing water in cab corners etc.

I checked, no indication of a leak.

From what I understand doesnt water drain into the cab corner regardless? Either way, the water should drain out of the corner through the rockers.. That's why I was assuming that there would be dirt or buildup in there that would hold the water from draining.

It's just from lack of maintenance. The previous owner probably didn't ever clean them out. I just bought the truck used last march so I've had it just over a year. After I get the rockers fixed I'll make sure to keep them cleaned out. Just need to line up a repair shop. Hopefully they'll be able to salvage the rockers and just cut out the bad spots and patch over them.

How do you clean them out?

Can someone post a pic of where the taped holes they clean out are located? I can't seem to figure out what everyone is referring too.
