Default Rocker Panel Rust Bubbles/Holes - Pics attached

Anyone have this issue besides me? Just bought the truck last march, 2012 FX4 SCAB. Previous owner must have never cleaned out the rockers, I'm having issues with weak spots and paint bubbles containing water. The picture below is the top of the drivers side rocker panel near the rear door latch.

Below is passenger side rocker panel.

Below is a weak spot I found yesterday. Could probably easily poke through it with my finger.

Time to start cutting and replacing only thing that will stop it.

Taking it to the local body shop next week for an estimate. I'll have the rockers flushed out after they cut and patch and have them spray the inside with some sort of lubricant/rust preventative spray. Hopefully it won't hurt the wallet too much...

Default Good luck buddy

Are your cab corners still good? That's what I'm most worried about on mine.. Not sure there is a good way to clean them out either

Being that your truck is in Arizona. I'd guess that's a defect if some sort. Not a usual spot for rust to form on the doors.

Rust starts on the bottom inner lip and works it's way to the outer bottom.

Yeah you're right. The butyl rubber sheet on the back side of the door had been put on with a large wrinkle in it. Water would drain down the back of the door and sit in a 3-4 inch pocket on the back side.

ford told me pound sand.

here's what i ended up doing
