Rigid Dually D2's in place of factory fogs
#93
I decided to replace my low light factory fogs with a pair of Rigid Industries Dually D2's. The process was simple and took about two hours. First, unplug the factory wiring harness and turn your wheels to the side. Next, remove the three bolts that hold the fog light housing on and pull it out from behind the bumper. Remove the adjusting screw.
Using a flat head, pry the tabs up and pull the foglight out.
Next find the raised part of the plastic on the bottom of the housing and drill a hole (after measuring of course).
Mount the D2 in the housing using the supplied bolt and insert the housing with mounted light back into the bumper.
As for wiring, I cut the harness from the Rigid kit and used just the plug that goes in the light with about 6 inches of lead. I then used a female 9006 harness piece and crimped together.
The lights now plug into the stock harness on the car and maintain the factory fog switch. Tell me what you think.

Why did you wire it to the factory switch? Unless you changed the wiring it will only work with the lows if I'm not mistaken. And which type did you get, flood, spot, wide? Id like some more light to the side, my eventual 30' bar will cover the front

The pics indicate that he got driving beam pattern, you can tell because of the shape of the specter optic is uniquely shaped like a closed oval.

I really want to do my fogs now as the factory ones leave a lot to be desired.
The idea of not having to wire them with a new relay and power lead makes this an easy upgrade.
I thought I would share what I did for my 30" LED SR Rigid light bar.
I cut out the top grill section and mounted it behind the grill using the factory hood braces that are there. It turned out decent in my opinion.
Here is a pic with factory HID's only.
This the view with the 30" Rigid SR LED light bar turned on.
You will notice it really reaches out there and lights up the building about 150 yards from my driveway.
Here is how it looks in my grill.
Its wired with an independent switch I can turn on anytime and also to my brights so they auto on when I kick on my brights.
These Rigid lights are pricey but let's just say...I have seen the light.

Also going to run a pair of amber D2's on hood mounts.
I used to want bars and lights everywhere but I just don't need them. I'd like the ambers for the winter up here. My HID's and LED fogs cover the white light just fine
