Default Resonator Delete?

As anyone done this to a 2011? I saw a video on YouTube with someone who deleted it and added a 4" tip. Just wondering if anyone else has done it and how it sounds

I removed my resonator on mine when I still had the stock muffler. Noticed very little difference honestly. At least not as much as I had hoped for. I then hacked off the muffler and installed the Flowmaster a few days later. Now THAT made a difference lol.

Replaced muffler with Magnaflow and it wasn't loud enough. Removed the resonator and it was perfect.

I'm running just the resonator. Straight-piped the muffler. Sounds awesome!

I too am deleting the Resonator as of right now (muffler shop is doing it). I cant tell yet if there is a difference but I am also changing the 2011 Limiteds muffler to the 2011 Harley twin side exit muffler, because this does sound different than the Limiteds. FYI the Harely muffler is NOT a direct bolt up for those that may also be interested in doing this. Ford changed the Resonator pipe on the Harley vs the Limited for what ever reason and made it 3.5" shorter which means the resonator pipe needs to be 3.5" longer on the harley, both with the 6.2L and 145" wheel base(GAY). The Harely muffler has a 3" inlet while the Litmited has a 2.5" inlet so you either need to buy the Harley resonator pipe (no) or delete the resonator. AS ford does not make a straight extension pipe for this to delete it the easy way as they do for the Raptor SC. No dice for CC owners. For those interested ill list the P/N for what i've found:
-2011 Ford Harley muffler: BL3Z-5230C
-2010 Ford Harley muffler: AL3Z-5230E
-2011 Ford Harely Resonator: BL3Z-5A212Q
-2010 Raptor (SC) extension pipe: AL3Z-5A212D (will not work on CC to short)

the total lenth of the 145" wheel base CC resy pipe is 30.5" long from flange face to end of pipe. To make my mod work needs to be approx 34" long.
Ford parts where I am couldnt find a factrory replacement but maybe there is one they just suck. Hope this helps someone lol.

What's the purpose of a resonator anyway? Is it like wisdom teeth, pull it out you don't really need it?

Lol. Pretty much. It's like a pre-muffler makes the truck or car quieter when running

If you remove the resonator do you get more of a rumble from your truck? I would like a deeper / throater sound without replacing the muffler and being too loud. I would like just a hint more!
