I have a 2013 king ranch with the p 275 55r 20 pirellis as stock tires almost 24k miles on them and it's time to start looking for replacement options. They've been as good as I would expect from stock tires. want to upgrade to an LT rated tire since I tow/haul a lot for work. My last two trucks were hand me downs from my dad when he upgraded to a new one. He always replaced the stock tires with Michelin ltx m/s and m/s2 tires once the stock tires wore out. When I replaced the ltx's on my last truck before I sold it, I got a set of Toyo open country at2's because my company paid for them. I only had the truck for about a month after that before I traded it in so I didn't get much of a chance to form an opinion on the toyos, So when it comes to tires I don't have much experience outside of the ltx's. What tires have you guys replaced your stock tires with and what do you think of them ?

I just changed tires and wheels from 18" to 20". I got the Michelin LTX MS2's also. I used this tire calculator at tacomaworld.com to try and keep the tire rotation close to the same for the speedometer. It was handy for me. I got 275/55-20. 70,000 mile tire.

In my personal experience, the 70,000 mile claim is very realistic. My dad and I had three different trucks from 98-2013 with ltx's on them. The last two ended up being my first and second cars. we put a combined 230k miles and 5 sets of michelins on those two trucks

funny that you went 18" to 20" because I'm looking at going the other if I can get my hands on a set of 18" kr wheels for the right price

I have 5k on 275/65/20 Toyo AT2's. I like them. They should last 50k from what I've seen. If u only light off road n tow some, I say go to the michelins. More $, but u WILL get 60-70k outta them. Terra grapplers are common and get too mixed mileage reviews. As well as some horrible wet traction remarks when more miles are on them. I will never buy them. Coopers last, i dont care for the AT3's and they seem to be softer rubber than some of their more aggressive treads like the ST or STT. No one local by me really carries Toyo or my SIZE, so if i do blow one at work, im kinda screwed. So cooper or Michelin would be my suggestion.

The big problem I'm running into is that there are no 275/55r/20 lt rated tires. The oem pirellis are 11.3 inches wide with a 31.9 inch diameter. The toyos at least give me the option to go wider in the tread or taller in the sidewall. The 285/55's are 11.7" wide and I think they should fit without rubbing, the 55r's go wider from there. The other option is a 275/65 with a diameter of 34.1" the michelins are also 275/65 and 34" and I don't think that a 34 will fit

If you go Toyo, get the AT2s. The MTs cost a lot more for the look (what most people buy them for) and are nosier tires at that. Unless of course you really do a lot of off roading.
