Default Removing Ford Decals

Not your average vynl sticker ...............

Before you say it...yes i did do my searches. But, this I think is a little different. The dealership put mud flaps on mynew truck which is greta but then they snuck around and put there label on them........... I was think it would be a qucik fix, take it home...... heat gun and a razor...........Not a chance. The label is like etched on / painted / something different then a decal.

Anybody have an idea of how i could go about taking these off and not losing my flaps....?

why didn't you just tell the dealer you didn't like the logos on there and to remove them or replace the flaps? doesn't seem right for them to do without even asking first.

Plastidip would not be a bad choice for this instance.

From the picture it looks like a galvanized steel plate is riveted on the bottom of the mudflap and painted. If you want to keep the plate the plastidip would basically paint over the plate, otherwise you would soak it in brakecleen, CLR, or a mild hydrochloric acid solution, which would take the pain right off.

I also hate dealership decals, unless they are going to pay me to leave them on the truck.

Long story short....the truck I am currently driving wasnt the one that I originally asked for. They got me a 2011 truck w/ no center console and dealership thought it was no big deal. So, I told them I wasnt going to buy it. And walk out. They then decided that the Brand new 2012 they had on their lot was all of a sudden in my price range b/c originally it wasnt...but now they were desperate. Walked out with a 2012 instead of a 2011. lariat ecoboost and gained heated cooled seats, 36 gal tank and pwr rear sliding window. Plus it was late and I had my 2 kids with me. thought i could take care of it myself.

I was thinking of drilling out the rivets and sanding it down........But if what you say it true that maybe some brake cleaner would take care of it.......I might try that route...

Wow---That is so bad--I will admit this is the funniest thing I have read all day---I mean it's funny but it's not....I wouldn't want it happening to me! That took some cojones to go and add their logo. I had mud flaps put on too and thank gosh they didn't do that to me! I would do what other folks said---you should have the dealer take it off--sounds like they have been messing with ya!
