I just had my dealer install the 1-way system three days ago for $305. I got a decent discount because they know me well. I elected to let them do the install because they charge the same price to just hook it up to the computer...

HOWEVER, I did mention the 2-way system while we were talking and they also stated that they do not install the 2-way systems, they have an outside contractor do those installs.

So the higher price for the 2-way system is probably based on the outside contractor.

I'd suspect that any dealer that uses an outside vendor for a two way system isn't using the OEM part and is instead using aftermarket parts.

Skip the factory system, it's crap compared to aftermarket. I just got a compustar remote alarm combo 2 way with a1 mile range for 780 instated. Just the remote start half can be had for around 500. It's also plug and play using the same port as the factory one with short crap range. 10000 times better than factory.
