Default Remote Start and RTM Error Code B1D55

Hi all.
I have a 2013 F150 XLT with the 5.0 engine and am trying to install an OEM equivalent remote start.
I've spent a couple hours pouring over the posts in this forum and cannot find a solution to my problem. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
Here is what I've done so far:
  • Bought an "OEM" kit from Amazon with two 4-button keys
  • Confirmed I have the hood switch
  • Installed the antenna behind the glove box
  • Got the keys cut and programmed both keys. Had to use the 8 switch on/off method to get the fobs to program, probably because the keys are likely Chinese.
  • Used FORScan to enable remote start by updating both the 726-19-01 and 720-01-02 modules.
  • Confirmed the Remote Start menu item shows up in the menu in my truck and that it is turned on.
Having done all that, the keys start the truck and the buttons all work. But the remote start won't start the truck.
When I press the lock button once and then the remote start button twice, I get a single horn beep and 2 parking light flashes which indicates the system received the instruction but failed to start.
I don't have any check engine lights on nor do I have any DTC error codes in the BCM or IPC modules in FORScan.
There is one DTC code in RTM that says B1D55 - Antenna #2. I've tried to clear it but it keeps returning. Could this cause it not to start remotely?
Anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks for reading.

Have you confirmed the hood switch is working and adjusted properly?

With that code you should double check the antenna you just installed. Make sure you didn't damage wires or anything. Is the tpms working?

Any codes that can trigger a CEL or an issue with the specific module in charge of the command you are trying to issue will cause a no start. The antenna issue is likely a cause.

Thanks Newbie 5. No, not sure how to confirm it is working properly. I'll dig around the forum and find out.

Thanks Spiky. I double checked where I installed the antenna and am pretty confident I didn't damage anything.
Not sure how to confirm the TPMS is working. I only get a light on the dash if my tire pressure falls low and there isn't a screen in the menus to show me the pressure for each tire. I guess I could let air out of one of the tires to get the light to come on.

Thanks Sherman-GT350. Agree with what you said about the codes, but there isn't a CEL on nor are there any DTC codes for the BCM or IPC modules that control the remote start. Still, too coincidental that the antenna issue is there and the remote start won't engage. I wonder if the antenna might be faulty.

For the hood switch to begin with you can open the hood and manually hold the button down, while doing that try the remote start. Or unplug it and put a jumper wire in the harness side connector.

Spiky, (for my learning) if the truck is flashing the lights, wouldn't that mean the antenna is working?

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

UPDATE
I was able to clear the B1D55 code. I simply disconnected and reconnected the antenna making sure both connectors were fully seated in the TPMS module. I'm pretty sure I did that last time, but whatever...it seems to have helped.
Next, I did as Newbie 5 suggested...held down the hood switch and presto!! It worked. So, I slightly bent the bracket holding the switch up a bit to make sure the hood fully depressed it when closed and it worked again!!

Thanks to all for your input and helping me get this resolved. Very much appreciated!!
