Default Remote start only honks and doesn't start

So I went to use the remote start today and the engine kinda half cranked and then stopped. Ever since then, every time I've tried it it just honks at me and doesn't start. I got it to start once but when I tried it again it honked at me again. Starts with the key just fine. Any clues?

Are you turning off the truck before you put it in park?

Hit the lock once and the spinning arrow thingie twice?

Check if the remote start is disabled in the menu...

If neither work, off to the dealer.

Remote start is enabled and I'm well aware of how to use it. After I posted this it worked perfectly three times and now it doesn't. Frustrating sob. I'm guessing a sensor is on the fritz somewhere.

And I'm not turning the truck off before putting it in park.

I didn't mean to seem like I was talking down to you. Just crossing my Ts and dotting my is. Sorry if it came off otherwise.

I've hit "lock, lock, start" a few times... lol

Idk. Hopefully it's just a hiccup. My truck does stupid things sometimes... like the radio just WOULDN'T read my iPod and then wouldn't run radio. Idk what happened but it came out of it... best guess, a hiccup.

Good luck man!

Same happened to me last weekend....once it happened I couldn't use it again for a while

I read this in the manual :

The remote start system will not work if:
• The ignition is in the on position.
• The alarm system is triggered.
• The feature has been disabled.
• The hood is not closed.
• Two remote vehicle starts have already been attempted within the last
hour.
• The vehicle is not in P (Park).

The Key fob might of been at the verge of the range and attempting to start again locked it out....just my thoughts.....mine worked after a few hours

I actually had the exact same behavior last week...

I went into the menu, turned off "quiet start", then turned it back on; cleared the honk/no start issue.

I had the same thing the OP posted happen the other day. I had to go and start the truck to get it to work again. Has worked fine ever since.
