I hit the remote start and the truck just honks at me, it doesnt do it after i get in and start it it just does it after its sat for a while??

 

how many honks? that'll narrow the code and maybe were to start looking..

Remote start is disabled if the check engine light is on.

 

Any electrical mods since it last worked? I ask because I recently used an add-a-fuse to power new switch for driving lights. I tapped in to fuse #38 (delayed accessory/110v power/radio. First time I used one of those and didn't use 2 fuses. Remote start wouldn't work, single honk. Added another fuse and everything works just fine.

 

My 2014 xlt just did that to me the other day. Once I manually started it, shut it down and retried remote start it worked fine............

 

^ yep. Mine hangs ups every now and then. I just key start it and always works fine the next time I try it.

 

No mods no nothing. It remote started this morning so i guess will see

 

j, first thing to check is the remote battery. Mine started doing the same thing, service gal said try a battery first. Dang, that worked. Good luck

BTW, Wally World has replacements if needed.
