Default Remote start/door lock installation help

I have been researching and researching over this reading thread after thread. I was wondering if anyone could literally tell me what bypass module I need or whatever it is I need the system is a Galaxy 5000RS. I know wiring I have all that down its not a worry it's the extra knowledge I need on installing this item on a newer vehicle.. So I don't lock up my truck with the Anti Theft device. If anyone has any knowledge I would really appreciate the help. I have a very stock 2010 F150 XL no keyless entry no power windows no factory alarm if you need any other details please just let me know

With the 2010's you'll need to get a bypass module for your truck. They're available at the ford parts counter. Just tell the guy there that you need an immobilizer bypass for your truck. I paid about $40 for 2009.

Very easy install. I believe there's a ring that you have to put around your key cylinder.(just sticks on with double sided tape)..

For the "install" portion of it, you should have 2 wires out of it.. hook the red to a positive (hot at all times) 12v constant.
The black wire would go to the remote start (ground out when running) wire.

Simple as that. You'd need 2 keys to program it.. put first key in turn on Run (not start), take key out, repeat with second key, then take that key out. Then attempt to remote start.

Buy an Idatalink ADS-AL-CA or an ADS-TB-CA, then you could reuse it for other vehicles other than just being F150 specific. Add the fact the key signal will be hardwired to the RX/TX(receive/transmit) wires at the key cylinder instead of a wire ring around the key hole. If your gonna do that then just buy a 3rd key and use some wire and a relay. Same thing, but probably cost you 10 dollars total.

BTW: TB's are less money being only a transponder bypass, but an AL will do the same for double the money(works on other cars). Just get a deal on either.

I also agree with MKC70's post about the idatalink modules. I've used those before and they work great. Although, they are a bit more expensive.

If you'll be keeping the truck for quite some time, i would go with the ford one, but if you'd be selling/trading in and keeping the starter, get the idatalink module.

So I went to Ford today and asked them about the bypass from the parts department and it looked as though I just told them there entire family had died. It was a blank stare from hell so I am just going to order one.

Thats wonderful.. Here is the part number that you'll need from Ford: 8L3Z-19G365-BA

otherwise, just go for the idatalink one.. they're great.

Yea I got the same response until I talked to the Parts manager and he looked it up. Just like opasno said, that is the correct part number I ordered the same one for mine to eliminate using my key. It was $40.00 plus whatever came to $47.00. It is actually called a interface module in the catalog. Parts manager called ford to verify it would work on my truck and said yes.

I took my interface kit back to my installer and he cut the small end connector off and ran the red to constant hot and the black to the remote starter. Put some of the glue from the small tube around ring of ignition and pulled off the double sided tape of ring and stuck to it. Of course he removed all the plastic covers first. Then he programed like the earlier post said by putting in the first key waiting for flashing lock and then did the second key. Then start. Worked great. Also found this kit online for $30 bucks at KC's Alarms. But of course I had already bought mine. I imagine ford has a remote starter that is plug and play with this part, unless my installer missed something but the ford parts manager said he would probably have to cut the end off to wire it to my Excalibur remote start. Mine works perfect and the range is amazing. I know this part doesn't come with any instructions but it seemed pretty easy.Plus he didn't charge me anything extra to install it.
