Default Remote access

How can I tell if remote access will work on my 2013 FX4? I have the app and it asked sim ID and a four digit pin. Where can I find this if my truck is even able to work with it?

Unless you had the remote access installed on your truck, then it won't work. It's a Ford aftermarket accessory. http://accessories.ford.com/aerial-asy-10667.html. So unless Ford told you that they put it on there at the dealership, you don't have it.

I could be wrong, but I don't think any trucks come with this stock.

It will cost you roughly 500-600 installed.

You can get it on eBay for 400 and install it yourself, easy. You have to have a Ford dealer activate it for you, but a couple of eBay sellers are Ford dealers so they will do it. There are threads on this forum that will point you in the right direction. Hope it helps

There's also a charge for that service. Requires a contract similar to a cell phone contract.

I'm going to see a dealer about it tomorrow. I'm ok with about $300 for the unit and the 50 per year. I just don't think it's worth anymore than that.
