Default Released the beast!!!

I've never tuned my truck before but after reading a BUNCH of reviews on all the power people are getting from them I finally broke down and got a sct programmer and a tune.

First off I'll let you know I have a 2013 ecoboost on 35's (6in BDS lift) crew cab, 6.5ft box. Basically it's a boat of a truck.

I looked forever at tunes and which one to get. We'll I had my mind set on the livernois tune but I had the wrong programmer, so then I found these guys called (SSI) or (southern speed inc). When I was looking through their forums I notice a link that said T5 tune release. So I click on it and it had another link of tunes listed so I clicked on it. There was a tune called "BEAST MODE" by god the name just screamed badass. So I flipped open my wallet as fast as I could and ordered that SOB. I received it in my e-mail last night and put it on my programmer this morning and ran out to my truck like a little kid. Had a smile on my face the whole time it loaded.

Now with the tune loaded I wanted to see if it would stand up to its name. I slowly pulled out of my driveway, put it in drive, hit the gas as I usually would and wouldn't you know my trucks going sideways up the road just burning off my 35's. I stopped and this big grinch grin came on face and then I took off again. This tune is truly a beast! Once you get use to it you can drive it nice in town but as soon as you want to go, she will let you go as fast as you want!

I truly want to thank Shawn and the (SSI) crew for the tune. Even though it is my first tune, it's by far the best!

I am jealous, but now is not the time where I can pay to play should something happen.

I know I run the risks of doing damage but I also don't race my truck like these other guys seem to do. I just got it to get some power back from putting bigger tires on.

I think he made his point about doing research and I'm sure he knows the risks.

I had been hesitant on lifting my 5.0 due to that fact of losing power, crappy mpg, and I tow maybe twice a year. Oh, also my 3.31 gears does not help. What gears r u running?

No 5.0 vs ecoboost now, guys....

As long as people understand that increasing boost via a tune increases the risk of premature failure of these engines. I've done several super charged engines and fully understand what happens when things go wrong. For the most part if driven reasonably, installed professionally and monitoring things closely you can have a lot of fun via Turbos or SC! Just have to accept the fact that things sometimes go wrong especially with all factory internals. A single bad casting, etc can spell disaster.

My advice is simply plan ahead and don't mod things you CAN NOT afford to replace with your own money. Sometimes you get lucky with a dealer under warranty and other times not. Bottom line is to simply recognize that increased HP is not FREE….. there can be hidden costs involved with extracting HP above and beyond factory specs. In no way am I suggesting not doing it either… just be aware of the dark side of what can happen!

i don't see the problem, he's just giving the guy 1st hand experience when you run such an aggressive tune that puts the Eco out of his parameters. Yes, one was a casting defect but you can't 100% claim the tune didn't have anything to do with it.
