Recall issued for 13-14 3.5L F-150, Faulty Brakes
#112
Its across the board. No part numbers available for anyone yet. It is a matter of if/when they fail you will get the same part put in until a new design comes out...

Lets hope they actually fixed the issue and not a band aid.

Is this not attached to all '13 and '14 models? I have a '13 and the owner site does not have my vin attached.....maybe I am lucky and don't have the problematic part. Anybody know if there is a manufacture date where this may start?

Mine was built in Kansas November of 2014. I have a feeling I'll be added to the list eventually, even though I'm not right now.

OK, I had a failure on this brake system back in August. Took into local Ford dealer & was informed that they would replace master cylinder, but remanufactured cylinder was not available yet. I would need to return when it was and have it replaced again. Today I stopped by dealership and ask if new cylinder was rec'd yet. I was told yes and when I attempted to make appointment, I was told I wasn't included in recall (??????). I have the letter in hand. To make it worse, they now insist that the cylinder that was installed in August is the new remanufactured one. I wasn't convinced & contacted Ford customer service. Rep agreed that she couldn't see any notation that this was the newer one. She contacted dealership and they convinced her it was. I have no faith in this system now. Surely if they installed the new one they would be sure to advise me & not tell me that I would need to return again. The part number they installed is EL3Z*2140*D (at least that's what's documented on my work order). Can anyone confirm this is the part number for the new cylinder? Certainly they would change the number on remanufactured
cylinder. Even Ford corporate couldn't confirm the # of the new one. I'm perplexed, don't know what to do, already ran one intersection when the brakes failed, don't care to do it again.
THANX!
