only have had my truck since the 4th of july, so i haven't had a real need for the rear window defroster yet. However i have pushed the button for a few seconds and then turned it off just to activate the heated mirrors (why this isn't a separate button i am unsure) due to this thread. with the winter months coming i will make sure to keep a close eye on the rear window

Got out to look at truck and didn't notice anything (truck has a fiberglass cap), figured maybe a large rock hit inner wheel well. A few days later, as the sun was shining between the cap and the back window I noticed the glass was shattered.

I called my dealership and they said it would not be covered as they don't cover glass, but to call Ford Canada Customer Service. Customer Service rep says that they have never heard of such a thing. When I mention the hundreds I have read about online, she says that she will escalate it to her manager, which may take a few days for a callback. Today is a week later and still haven't heard back.

Will post again when I hear back from them...
