It depends what year FX4 we're talking about. My '11 has a dang peg leg with an E-locker.

In 2wd it is an open diff. In 4wd it is open but you can lock the diff, but the locker kicks out around 25mph and returns to a peg leg. The system also has ESC (electronic spin control). When traction is lost the ESC is supposed to kick in and act like a L/S diff. Whenever I lose traction on dirt my ESC kicks in and acts like a L/S, but when I lose traction on pavement I get the one wheel peel.

hmm well that kinda sucks thanks for the info. I just wanna be able to kick it sideways on a dirt road or not get stuck in small mud puddles in 2wd pulling my 4wheelers with one wheel peel lol

my one wheel spin control seems to work as I've had no problems leaving two black mark or sliding around on dirt roads or going through mud...provided I disable AdvanceTrac/Traction Control...
