Default Rear defroster not working

So the rear defroster in my 2013 XLT wont turn on.
I checked the fuse and its good, I swapped the relay and tried it, still nothing. I did get the little LED indicator on the control to blink once but it wont do it again.

I see in the manual OM that the rear defroster wont come on if the rear glass is open so I opened and closed the rear slider a couple of times and tried it. Still nothing.

This truck only has 14k mile on it and is otherwise problem free. It does have aftermarket mirrors on it that ahve been in place for a year. I'm not sure how long this has been a problem, last winter everything worked fine.

Has anyone had this happen and know of a glitch? What else should I be looking at? Electrical connections for the mirrors?

it's a widely known problem with our trucks. i just had mine fixed at the dealer yesterday. they have to remove and replace the entire window. cost is around $1,500 or so total but it was covered under my CPO warranty for a $100 deductible.

-edit-

mine is a '13 xlt w/ 26k.

My truck has been outside in below 0 temps this week. Still don't have to use it. Never ever have in the 4 years I've owned it.

CPO shouldn't have a deductible. ESP has deductibles.

dunno what to tell you but mine does. both the dealer i bought it from, my local dealer and a direct call to ford said the same thing - $100 deductible. had repairs done at both places and called ford directly once when i had a problem, everyone said it does.

The switch for the rear window would turn it on, light would go on, then off within a second. Over the next two winters it would work once or twice a winter, then not even light the light. My back slider ended up having a short in it... replaced window (along with the worn leather steering wheel) at about 35,920 miles on the truck...

My 2013 super crew did the same thing this year. We had a heavy frost pushed the rear defroster wouldn't light up , And rear defroster does not work. It also has 14 thousand miles on it. I have the ford extended warranty . I guess I should get it to my dealer.
