Default Ratchet sound when accelerating Help!!

I have a 2010 XLT 4x4 with just under 220,000 miles on it and when I am accelerating at around 1250 rpm to 2000 a loud clicking or ratchet/buzzing sound is coming from the engine but the sound does stop above 2000. It does happen in 4x4. You can hear it from the cab with the widows closed as well. I don't have any check engine lights on either. Anyone have any ideas? I will be attaching the video when I get home from work. Any ideas will help! Thank you all!

Start by testing your 4x4 engagement system - IWE system.

The ratchet sound would indicate 4x4 engaging issues despite you saying it comes from the engine.

Need to verify first, but the sound is a common description for IWE failure.

I'm discounting RPM until further info.
