Default Radio question

Hey guys! Just bought me a 2013 xlt ecoboost the other day and I have a question. I have the little screen in the dash and I absolutely hate it! I want to switch it out for this one. Is this possible? I realize I need the whole dash panel and radio. But would it be plug and play?

Lol

That's over a grand! I just want a radio that doesn't look hideous. Any idea why it won't work?

from what I understand, the screen and the buttons are attached to the ac controls and all that on a large circuit board.. maybe you can get away with swapping out the set up u have for a 12' dash stack with the ac controls n such

I don't have MFT I just have regular sync. You can still get that radio in the XL plus package and some base model XLTs. The climate controls are separate from the radio and in believe that the connectors are the same hmmmmm

Umm not exactly, what we have is called my ford/sync the "T" indicates touch as in touch screen which is not what he or I have, my dash and radio is exactly the same.

OP not much can be done at this time because the system is so new there is virtually NO aftermarket support for changes, even if there was it would be going forward not back to the dash pic you said you wanted, those came out in 09.

The radio connectors and several other things are completely different for the 2013 model, I'm currently sitting on a new amp I can't install because the connectors are different. I could splice and dice but not while she's under warranty.

I prefer the new screen. On Sirius for example you can see the station name, artist & song all at the same time. It looks like you only get 2 of those three on the old one. I know the number is visible but I like to see the actual station name also. I figured out how to rewind/replay/record, depending on what you want to call it, Sirus with the new screen also then catch back up to live--can you do that with the old one? (I'm old fashioned maybe this has been common forever). Does the old version have an "OK" or enter button on the radio? It seems I struggled with that on the old version also when entering a phone number or radio staition directly. On the new screen I just direct enter the numbers & hit "OK" it goes. Seems I had to hit enter on the steering wheel before?
