Radio didn't play when vehicle turned off "battery saver"

This will get fixed when it comes to the attention of the media. Get it on CNN or Fox News or maybe even Jay Leno's Garage. Once Ford gets bad publicity then they will do something about it.
You think by now Ford would have taken back one of these problem trucks, put it in the lab, hooked up a few dozen probes and monitored it 24/7 until they found the current drain. The dealers aren't going to solve this one.

It's a stupid engineering disaster. There's just too much unproven computerized BS being put into vehicles these days. Having these kind of issues in a vehicle costing 30-60k is inexcusable especially with the monthly payments most people make. Dependability is the least we can expect from any vehicle manufacturer!
It's too bad, because I love this truck. It's a gigantic PITA with this battery issue though. There is no excuse for this kind of preformance on a released truck. This should only happen when a truck is still in development stages. I'm disappointed in Ford.

When they reset my battery minder to recognize 12.3 volts as the normal state of charge rather than 13 v when it first came off the charger seemed to correct the problem in my particular case but I was only getting the warning. My battery never drained down.
As far as out of warranty check with the dealer but I do believe they are responsible for unresolved issues that happened while the truck was still under warranty. If this keeps up Ford is going to end up in a class action lawsuit with as many people who are having issues with the charging system.

I don't think ford sees this as much of a issue, looks like the 15s have the same type of system.
My issue has not returned, but with a meter, battery in truck almost never reads above 12 volts. Dose not seems right to me,but the truck starts and I'm not getting a low battery warning.

My software was reset in November, and the warning is now back. It seems to happen less consistently. Yesterday, it came on when I shut the truck off after a 2 hour highway road trip. The good news is it has never shown any outward signs of a low battery. But, clearly something is wrong.
I agree with the comments about this being disappointing and a PITA. This truck is, by far, the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased. I had very high expectations. This sort of issue on a mature platform like this should not happen. But, if it does, Ford should be proactively managing it. The F150 is their flagship product. You would think that, given the extent of the issue, they would be sufficiently concerned about their brand equity to reach out and at least show some concern. We know they monitor this site, and are aware of this thread. So, what are they thinking? Either, A) their product managers think this issue is not significant enough to negatively impact their market share. In effect, they think they can ride it out. Or, B) their lawyers are advising they take a defensive position and not do anything which may constrain their defense of a class action lawsuit.
I can say that if their strategy is "A", they are misguided. I can tell them that my 25 year old nephew just bought his first truck. Based on his knowledge of my issues with the F150, he bought a GMC. Multiply my experience by the number of owners dissatisfied with this issue and, well, this is how market segment leaders lose their leadership.
If their strategy is "B" above, well, does anybody know a class action lawyer? It may be time.

My son in law just bought a new Dodge Ram. I told him about the problem with Ford's and the fact that I have had it happen a few times with my 2013. So he decided on the Dodge.
I buy a new truck every other year and will be in the market for one again next year. If they don't solve this problem, I will be looking at a Dodge. So that is at least one more and possibly two sales that they will lose. WAKE UP FORD!!

We all need to contact the US gov. DOT https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ they will contact Ford and apply pressure for them to recall and fix this problem. That will grab there attention. If enough people call in and complain it will happen. It's a safety issue being stranded on the side of the road or a dark parking lot somewhere. So everybody email them and get the ball rolling not to mention our trucks....

Happy new owner
My truck was taken in about 2,000 KMs/20 days ago for this issue. They applied the SSM update and tested the battery. Battery tested fine and the issue has not come back yet. I have taken it for long & short drives in -10 c to 10 c temperatures. I will continue to update if the issue comes back or not.
I do think there are varying degrees of this issue as some people have dead batteries and some just have the annoying battery saver issue so I don't know if its two different issues or just some worse than others. I just had the battery saver message repeatedly come up but never had a dead battery.

Random is how I would describe mine. In one year I've seen three times when I'd get home from work. Then wouldn't see it again for a few months.
I have to stop by for the sync warranty recall, so I'll see what response mine gets.
