^oh ok, that's strange. The 2010 and earlier remote start systems all give the confirmation honk upon startup and you can turn off the honk if you want to in the option settings for those systems.

Since I sell Fords I was privy to what this feature really does. The quiet start feature allows the engine to run at the lowest RPM's possible to keep engine noise at a minimum. Imagine that you park in the garage and you have aftermarket exhaust installed. When you raise the garage and start the truck the noise will be kept to a minimum so you won't disturb anyone in the house.

Does that make sense to y'all?

Makes sense to me. That's really what my friend & I agreed it had to be being as the horn didn't honk either way.
