Question Question about remote start run time

This has bugged me for a while now but since the temp got down to -7°F today I thought I would ask. The run time on my factory remote time is 15 minutes then you have to restart. Is there any way to increase the run time to say 30 minutes? At these temps that little ecoboost ain't no where near warm after just 15 minutes at an idle.

I know you can set it for a shorter time (5, 10). But on my truck I do not see an option to increase it from 15.

1. Press the lock button to lock all the doors.
2. Press the remote start button twice. The exterior lamps will flash
twice.
The horn will sound if the system fails to start, unless quiet start is on.
Quiet start will run the blower fan at a slower speed to reduce noise. You
can switch it on or off in the information display. See the
Information
Displays
chapter.

Note:
If you remote start your vehicle with an integrated keyhead
transmitter, you must switch the ignition on before driving your vehicle.
If you remote start your vehicle with an intelligent access transmitter,
you must have a programmed intelligent access key inside your vehicle
and press the
START/STOP button on the instrument panel once while
applying the brake pedal before driving your vehicle.
The power windows will be inhibited during the remote start and the
radio will not turn on automatically.
The parking lamps will remain on and your vehicle will run for 5, 10, or
15 minutes, depending on the setting. See the
Information Displays

chapter to select the duration of the remote start system.

Extending the Vehicle Run Time
Repeat Steps 1 and 2 with your vehicle still running to extend the run
time for another remote start duration. If the duration is set to last
10 minutes, the duration will extend by another 10 minutes beginning
after what is left of the first activation time. For example, if your vehicle
had been running from the first remote start for five minutes, your
vehicle will continue to run now for a total of 15 minutes.
Wait at least five seconds before remote starting after a vehicle
shutdown.

That is what I was going to post.

30 mins is a long time to idle before taking off. Do you have access to 110V so you can use the block heater?

If you want heat when you drive it, then DRIVE it. Even at -7, a minute or two warming up is all you need, if that. Idling for 30 minutes at any temp is harder on the engine than driving it gently for the first few miles.
Driving it and putting a load on the engine is going to warm it up far faster too. I am very pleased with how fast the EB warms up in the first few miles. When I have the system on auto, it's blowing warm air by the beginning of the third mile or so.

First world problems. Ludicrous to run truck for 30 minutes.

I'm in Battle Creek (10 minutes from the OP)and if I remote start mine and let it run for 2 minutes, I can drive off and have it start blowing warm air in 2 more minutes. I would never let it run for even 10 minutes.

I too am a "first world" kind of guy- I sure as h_ll don't wanna be anything else. I bought a totally loaded truck just so I don't have to endure chilly or sweaty ballz. The days of these trucks being the exclusive domain of "real men" is over- why do you think Ford sells the high-end trucks anyways? Have you grizzly Adams types ever look at the percentage of non-work trucks Ford sells every year that ARE NOT high-end trucks? it laughable. The only reason they even bother to make any non- fleet destined XLs is for people with little or no money or available credit. They want to reel 'em in as owners and hope they go upscale next time around. They sure as heck don't do it for the profit!
