I found a new oil that's 118 % better. I'll PM everyone but Georgiaboy about it.

Default quaker consumer

i have always use quaker state my self and have never had a problem with them. i was thinking of trying royal purple in my 79 on the next change but have been told that its not good for a high mileage older motor. if anyone has info on that it would be appriciated. far as oil good enough for nascar, i wouldnt think that would be comparable to real world driving. i could be wrong, but i think they do a complete rebuild before they use it again.

I have been using Casrtol GTX for decades. Never had any issues with it. and I am very hard on vehicles. I will stick with what works for me.

Alright boys, school is now in session. QS Defy derives its name from the fact that it "defies" the API's current SN resource conserving standard that limits zinc- and phosphorous-based antiwear agents. QS Defy has a level of zinc that is comparable to what you will find in many heavy-duty oils that are not spec'd as resource conserving, such as Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 or German Castrol. Defy is targeted to the consumer who wants the zinc antiwear agents to protect his/her engine, is suspicious of the "new" less proven antiwear agents found in SN resource conserving oils such as moly, titanium, and antimony, and is willing to accept the fact that zinc and phosphorous will eventually clog up cat converters.

If you're one of those people who "don't trust the gub'ment and their doggone EPA and their CAFE because they're messin' with my engine" you are, or should be, a QS Defy customer.

In my 93 dodge d150 itht the 318 magnum and 246,000 miles on it, it 0was the best choice i made for oil, it has taking me from burning 1 quart every 800 miles using quaker state 10w40 coventional (I only use 10w40)to burning........NO OIL !!!!!!! HAHA!!!! and it runs smoother and quiter then before.

hope this helps with someone wanting to know how well it works.

Sorry for being a little late on this post lol

You're one-thumb typing on your phone while driving, aren't you?

Stop that!
