Default Push Start button on coinholder - Wiring?

I want to get rid of the coin holder on the dash, and I was thinking about a gauge at first, but then I saw this:

And I wonder if anyone has done it, or if you know the colors of the wires (Start, Run/Start) in our F150's?

In a 2010 Mustang they are blue with white stripe and light gray with purple stripe...

i want to add something there to. i was told that all the truck have the same basic harness (4x4 switch) but never looked it up.

i was thinking of a remote amp/sub switch, since i have KC Hilites running to the stock switch. my brother wants to add a air horn on it and put the switch there.

Why not just do a 4WD conversion?

I bought the switch from Greenleaf on Ebay and did the same thing. But mine started life as a 4x4. But it has the "real" shift handle on the floor. I added fog lights and am using the switch for them

I'm planning on adding another 12v power source where the coin holder is.

fine if you have a flow-through center console

us guys with column shifters might find out that things plugged in right there might stick out and get in the way

a push button starter would be a cool idea though

A voltmeter is another suggestion, since that was replaced in the instrument cluster a while ago by the transmission oil temp gauge.

We had a car that used a key and push button start(S2000), it was a PITA in my opinion. Push button is ok if you have a keyless setup, but a novelty if your car requires a key....

Just my opinion from actually having it.
