Push start
I must say, the push button start & "proximity key" on my explorer is my favorite feature! I'm so spoiled by it! When I drive a car with a traditional key, I get so frustrated having to dig my keys out of my pocket so I can unlock my car!
Nissan has been putting this technology on all their cars for years. Why Ford doesn't do this for every car in their fleet from the factory baffles me.

I was reading recently that someone in our ever wise legislation is pushing a bill to remove proximity/push Button technology as it "confuses people in an emergency situation". What a load of bunk. I'll need to do some investigation on this one.

I get the concern... As a first responder, proximity keys do require a different treatment then traditional keys when making a vehicle safe...
That's not to say we need legislation - a little training, and as was pointed out; some common sense, goes a long way! Old habits (putting keys on the dash or roof-top) simply have to be replaced with new (removing keys and putting them at the squad or engine)...
That said, I've never found the required quarter turn of my wrist to be much of a hardship...

There have been several cases of first responders not being up to date on this tech and couldnt "turn off" the vehicle in auto accidents which leads to air bags being charged and other things like HID lights to still be active.
I think it is crap because if you want to be in this profession then you need to stay current on your work enviroment.
Our department (HTR) keeps up with constant training and classes. Believe it or not, we go to dealers when new models come out (Volt) and they will pull one in the bay and let us go through it front to back and put it up on a lift so we can see how things are routed.

And thank you for what you do.
