Pulling the trigger on TLF headlights?
I've been eyeing up the switchbacks for awhile. And since I wanna go with the OEM HIDs, I might as well add some extra coolness! The lights and quality all what it's cracked up to be?

I've been doing a LOT of research on various LED setups and such in the headlights because I want to retro my '12 King Ranch with OEM's and some LED goodies.
What I've found about the switch back bars isn't promising. They are essentially the same premise as the ones TRS was selling a while ago (they may be the same exact ones) and I found quite a number of threads on different boards last week that claimed failure of them on multiple occasions. TRS also has those flex bars on close out... Not saying it's bad. It just doesn't feel promising.
Though I do love the idea behind them. I think they would look amazing coming down the road with the white's and they turn off and switch to amber for the turn signals like a lot of newer vehicles are doing. I just have a horrible feeling that they are flawed.
What I'm planning to do, and I've never retrofitted before so it'll be a challenge, is take a set of the 13-14 Chrome housings. Paint the internals to match my King Ranch, and add 2 3" Amber Morimoto XBLed strips above and below the F150 emblem. AND get the White XBLed F150 C bar lights from TRS and put them in the housing. Make a circuit to make the whites run until turn signals are activated then they will turn off and only ambers flash... According to TRS website they have a switchback light functionality. but they aren't dual color.
ANYWAY, that's me... Your results may vary but I haven't seen anybody's first hand review of them either.

THese are the good ones I'm thinking of. Whether I do them or have Bilinvic retrofits do them. CHeck out the description:
The integrated "switchback" driver can be triggered to turn off when the low beam headlights or turn signals turn on. Allowing users to create a true OEM-like function without the need for additional accessories. This makes them perfect for accent lighting, daytime running lights, or even blinkers.

Well after researching and seeing comments about the quality and lack of workmanship. I'm beginning to get turned away. I want the OEM HIDs, but I just wanted the extra touch to make it different.

Thank you for the idea! I actually got in touch with a member selling a pair of OEMs with the upgraded projectors and other goodies. We'll see what happens !

I saw the same with TLF stuff... If you're going to have someone retro for you, I'd have Bilinvic or Yuke do them... OR if you're feeling confident and take your time, do them yourself
