Default Projector Headlights

I bought my Ecoboost a couple of months ago on a whim. I had enough with the issues of my F250 6.0.

With that being said, I walked on the lot, picked one, and signed the papers and left, with little research.

Now, I have the fancy headlights with the projectors. After owning it for about 6 weeks I've seen some that have the blacked out Projectors.

My question to you is, what would be the most cost effective way to get the black projectors. Do people trade for the chrome ones? Or am I better off buying the black ones on Ebay and then trying to sell mine?

Thanks!

Are the blacked out ones the lights that come on the FX4's? There isn't much difference.

You should be able to offset a large portion of your costs by selling your chrome housings. You won't need a harness since you already have OEM HIDs. However, if you purchase the HIDs as you see them listed, then you can include the supplied harness in your sale so that it'll make the upgrade for someone with halogens that much more complete.

You can take your chances with stuff on Ebay, but RaptorRetrofit is selling brand new housings.

Thanks! I sent them a message, maybe they'll be interested in doing some swapping. I wish I would have looked into this prior to purchasing.

I'm also looking for an OEM Black Grill. Trying to "personalize" it a little

I would just pull the lens off and paint them.... its super easy and since you dont need to do a projector like i did, it would be less than a days work to do.

Mine started off as a chrome halogen bulb housing..

added the projectors and did a black backround with gunmetal projector shroud

That's actually chrome and gray (found on the Raptor).

The black is BLACK and pretty obvious.

He does a core swap, but it's not as advantageous for you as selling them here in the classifieds would be.
