Default Programming 3rd keyless remote

I've done this on 2 previous vehicle but for some reason, I haven't been able to program a 3rd keyless remote for my '10 XLT Screw. I read and re-read the instructions in the operators manual for the past hour and can't get the 3rd keyless remote programmed and have lost the program of one of the original keyless remotes.

Without typing all of the instructions I'm fairly sure I have followed the instructions.

I have been able to program any one of the remotes but not all of them. Obviously I'm missing something but haven’t been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

An easy answer would be to take it to the dealer but I thought I would try figuring out first.

Any help will be appreciated.

I certainly hope you can get your keys programmed without dealer intervention.

I took one look at the numerous steps required and figured my chances of success at programming a 3rd administrator key to be near zero. I spent $140 to get the 3rd administrator key at the dealer. No problems, just a lot of money.

The guy ahead of me at the dealer service tried the do-it-yourself approach and canceled the program in one of his original keys. It wouldn't start the truck. It cost him more than $140 to get that fixed.

I'm not programing a 3rd key. Only a 3rd keyless remote.

I finally did it. Like a dummy I was cycling each of the 3 keys 8 times instead of only one and then pushing a button on each of the 3 remotes.

Thanks for the help.

I know it's a dumb question on my part, but are you completing the rotation w/in the allotted time slot?

Oops! I got confused between programming keyless remote and programmed key. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the help.

So did you have to do this rotation w/two of your already programmed keys in the ignition or do you just use one?

I am only programming a 3rd keyless remote, not a key. I only had to use one of the original keys to program the extra remotes.
