My BCM is being replaced right now actually

Here's a quick run down.

2 months ago I got to work and my truck wouldn't shut off. It operated as if the key was in the ignition. Radio on, all accessories, etc. I didn't try driving.

I dropped it off at the dealership running. After they replaced the key cylinder all was well.

Last week I started my truck in the A.M., went to Tim Hortons and couldn't roll down my window to get my morning coffee. Next time I started my truck the window was fine.

Monday morning I got to work, turned my truck off and it was still running again... Drove it to the dealership and there it sits. Here's an email from my service advisor...

We have the body control module on order. This controls all of your door locks, window switches…ignition etc. The part is on national parts back order with no ETA. The vehicle is drivable however I am trying to get a rental covered for you through Ford (if that’s what you want) – let me know.

Kind of makes sense with the window I guess? Sounds like it may have been a common problem with the back order.

It does make sense!! However we/Ford have not come across this problem yet. We contacted Ford hotline and they said they’ve never hear of that problem before. Tech didn’t even know about the window concern but when I went out there and he explained to me that the module controlled a few different things, including the windows, I said YES! He was having trouble with his window last week.

Turns out they found one in BC so I should have my truck back by the end of the week. The rental Escape is painful to drive, easier to park and the gas gauge hasn't moved but man I want my truck back.

Ah... this makes a lot of sense... front windows will not work unless they are receiving a delayed accessory signal which is supplied by the BCM. In theory back windows would still work if the BCM were causing the problem because they do not have one touch up (along with the module that controls 1 touch).
