A week or so back I decided to call Tasca to see about getting some of those 2012 FX4 metal emblems for the front fenders and tailgate. I asked if they could get 2012 parts and was told 'yes we can'.

I went into detail that I wanted the 'black with red inserts metal body emblems' that go on the right and left front fenders behind the wheels. The ones that say 'fx4 F-150' on them. Also I requested the matching one for the left side of the tailgate. I double-triple checked with the fellow on the phone to make sure we both understood what I wanted.

I paid the paypal request and thought 'this will be cool'. I was told the parts would arrive in the morning and they would ship out as long as the paypal was received.

The next afternoon I received a refund from paypal for my payment. I called in and was told that they received the decals from the box sides. After all the confirming I went through with them. Awesome.

Now, I am then told that the metal body emblems on the 2012 FX4 appearance package are NOT available from Ford parts as they are a '3rd party ACCESSORY'. Supposedly several people there looked into this and confirmed this finding at Tasca.

I know things like the bull rings, Ford sportliner, all that stuff is 3rd party, but metal body emblems from the factory? I think there is still some confusion but they really didn't seem to want to entertain anything further about them.

Anyone who can clarify or confirm this by any chance?

 

Your gonna get flamed by Tasca for posting something negative about them....better get some water reader to put the fire out!!! They will respond and be on this like a hobo on a ham sandwich. I learned the hard way....

 

Whining because you got your money back? It's a brand new option for the trucks, give it some time.

I don't think I said they were idiots or incompetent, just want to know one way or another.

I have had nothing but problems the two times I have ordered from Tasca! I personally would not order anything from them there are other complaints about Tasca on here too just search. There are plenty of other dealers with low prices and fast shipping just shop before you buy!

 

Well my main concern/question is that I'm not sure they are a 3rd party accessory as I was told and asking the forum as someone might know. They refunded my $ quickly so that's not the issue at all, and they were courteous on the phone. In fact I ordered my smooth lariat flares to PTM and they shipped the same day for a good price.

I just really want to know if what I was told is true or if they are mistaken; my local dealer can't access '12 parts yet to confirm or not.
