Default Is it possible to get this off?

Alright so long story short when my dad bought this new he put the chrome stripe on the bottom since for some odd reason he liked that. Since I bought it from him I have bought a front and rear white bumper, as well as white door handles but haven't put them on yet as it looks odd with the chrome going along the bottom. Is there a way to get this off without showing paint discoloration?

Ewww. Yes, heat gun and start peeling, take it to a body shop and get them to use a proper rubber compound pad and remove all the goo that will be left behing. You will mess up the paint if you try it any other way as that is horrid and covers so much area.

I will take it to a detailing shop and see what they can say. It is an 09, are you sure the paint will match?

I wouldn't think there would be a problem. If the paint has been cared for by your Dad, a good detail will make it right.

BTW, I thought it was a '13 with the grill and HID's, then I looked at the wheels. It's a good looking truck.

My 2007 had the chrome rocker panels. It was a huge pain in the rear to take them off. Heat gun and patience. Then I used that cleaner/wax to remove stubborn gunk. If your not in a hurry you can do a little at a time. You can do it. Good luck.

Yes, you can remove them I did it on my 04. All I used was a heat gun and pliers to remove them using a rolling up and down motion while travelling forward. To remove the two way tape after I bought a 3M decal remover (an eraser disk that went in a drill) from an auto body shop. Then I used Goo Gone to remove what was left. Then polish and wax the truck. Thanks for all the responses! I think I am going to attempt it this coming weekend, my dad thinks it will peel the paint off along with it for some reason. I appreciate all the responses and I will update with photos after.
